Stubborn Cold Won’t Go Away

Separated at birth: Don Knotts and Dr. Neil Clark Warren.
Am I the only one who thinks eHarmony founder and spokesman is a dead ringer for Don Knotts? When first I saw those eHarmony commercials, I thought I was looking at a relatively youthful-looking Don. Answer: nope. While I may be the only one who actually thought the eHarmony pitchman was Don Knotts, others have noted the similarity, including the TV Commercial Blog and Julie (not my sister).

I’ve been meaning to watch Attack of the Show for a while now. It’s billed as a show about the latest technology and such. Well, I watched it today, and it featured almost nothing other than moronic games such as Lure the Kitten Thru the Obstacle Course with a Spoon of Cat Food and women beating each other with nerf bats. The morally bankrupt show, peppered with sexual innuendos aplenty, also featured footage from major comic book shows and adult entertainment festivals. The only, and I mean only, redeeming feature of the show is the beautiful brunette host, Olivia Munn.
Unless I happened to catch a really bad episode of Attack of the Show, I don’t understand why anyone would want to watch it (other than to see Olivia Munn, I mean).
Man, I feel like crap. This is the second day of Nashville landscape maintenance work in a row that I’ve missed. I suddenly felt nauseous a couple of hours ago, tried to fight it, and lost. I had to run outside, and I barely cleared the patio in time. Oh well, that incident removed any lingering guilt or doubt as to whether I should have tried to go to work today.
A guy just called me to discuss a small web development project, and he said he’s been under the weather, too, and that today is the first day he’s felt well in almost two weeks. Surely this crud won’t last that long. Maybe I’ll double up on the green tea (chock full of antioxidant goodness)!
I continue to be grateful for those who recommended the 2003-2006 sitcom Arrested Development to me — I just cannot remember who they were. I’m now the proud owner of all three seasons; the purchase of the Arrested Development season one DVD set capped a lovely post-xmas shopping spree during which more dollars were spent than intended. These episodes are producing more snickers, guffaws, and everything in between than I’ve had in a while. I’m certain I’ll be writing more about Arrested Development later.
I just now received an email notifying me that I’ve been LinkedIn by a girl named Trina D., and the dark memories immediately followed. She worked at an Atlanta computer training company (CED) when I was their web developer, so I got to know her. She had a great sense of humor, and she was attractive, too; before long, I wanted to go out with her. Long story short: she tolerated my alcoholic behavior until I made a complete fool of myself — multiple times! Thankfully, those memories, while unpleasant, are indistict and obscured…and I’ve just learned that she does not even remember my vagary, which serves as further evidence that most of our worries are completely unfounded! Sweet.
